I've update the Book of Sun link... I've forgotten how very much I love that story. It's so descriptive and beautiful--a prime example of my best work.
The plot's a little holey, but I've been working on that in editing. I love the beginning, now that I've fixed it--all I need now is to: a) Get rid of the dragons. They are purposeless, except for the intense description scenes--that and they can fly. b) Make the 'Cycle' first appear to Ajabin in the sky, or the earth, or in her dreams! c) Find some way for her power to be wakened and for her to actually notice it... I like the scene I have for this, except it integrally involves the dragons, and, well, see part a. d) Expand upon the bridge scene--Why Ajabin? Why these places? What does she do? Why does she do it? etc... e) Make the battle between 'Cycle' and 'non-Cycle' more obvious, instead of the occasional references. It's an important part of the story--I can't just skim over it. f) Determine why the conclusion is the 'end' of things. To me, it seems they'd just keep going on. Ajabin would have to keep messing around/fixing things. g) etc. |
