Tonight was 'Bring your problems to KMJ' night. Fortunately I wasn't hassled by anyone who reads this blog so I can talk about it. People talking to me about how unmotivated they are, about how much their love life sucks, about how much their family sucks, about their bad grades. Ye GODS. I know I am a good friend and all and that means I listen. Yep, and that means I don't tell anyone else unless I think your problems are serious. It's not that I don't want to sit and listen to your problems. It's that after a while other peoples' stresses start to weigh on me, and I get down. And I don't ever, ever show it. It sometimes amazes me how very very little my friends know of me. Except for Katie, who has in fact heard me speak of what lies inside simply because it's much easier to communicate over AIM (I am after all a writer), and also she's got the benefit of years. But really, I think about it... no one at work even has the faintest idea of any side of me other than the brilliant scintillation I put on for the first interview and never seemed to take off. And random people who work up there who I DON'T REALLY KNOW get to know me and smile and say 'hi' simply because I sparkle at them. My interesting little mask... It kind of scares me. How much I change for people, adapt to people... am I naturally this amorphous or am I lost in my own uncertainty? dude, I'm like the uncertainty principle. Knowing my attitude precisely prevents you from finding out my true shape! AWESOME!! |
