Books!

*cough*

My brother was cleaning out his fantasy collection and let me take a bunch of books to read/sell. Robert Jordan, to sell (Maybe I'll read his first, though my general opinion of his books so far is relatively poor). George R. R. Martin, to read and learn how to improve my characters. RA Salvatore, to read and, according to Peteratwork, learn how to not write. *nodnodnod* And some of the Shannara series, and the entire Myth series, which I was always interested in reading as a sort of subsidiary to Terry Pratchett. Pity my bro didn't have any Terry Pratchett. Ah well. I am going to start collecting those as well.

I am also collecting, from friends/family, books that one should not be allowed out of college without having read. On the list so far: Woman at Point Zero, 100 Years of Solitude, Blindness, Hamlet, and 'some of Chaucer.' Not all of those are books, of course, but oh well. They should still be good. Anyone else have any suggestions?

Other than that, my life has consisted of meeting some small group of old friends and eating out with them. Tis breaking my bank T.T and I'm stuffed, too. If only there were a decent way to entertain other than 'over lunch' or 'over a cup of coffee.' Oi. Watched City of Angels with Katiethewritingbuddy; I don't really know how she felt about it but if she didn't like it she suffered through it well. I have also watched Serenity, Madagascar, and two episodes of Firefly, and several episodes of Ganketsuou, which is quite good. And I plan on watching... Pay it Forward (yeah, I was on a binge of 'movies that make you cry because they feel so good.') and some more Firefly and also some MASH *grins viciously*

Stopped at Hot Topic yesterday and found a pair of Inuyasha and Sesshomaru figurines. Action figures, really. Mint condition, limited edition (7500 released, I quoth)... whatever. I don't know whether to keep them and see if they might be worth anything or bust them out and play with them right now.

Life is good and quiet and happy. I am reading the History of Modern Europe and the C++ Programming books; simultaneously. I was going to write but with the discovery of more books that might just be put off.

Back to work on Friday. I worry about my responsibilities. I do not know entirely what I would end up doing with the damned Stamp chip, which is unprogrammed. I have been looking everywhere and nothing is solved.

Maybe I'll call MIT tomorrow and get a hold of the Observatory and ... see if I can get answers. Well, not tomorrow. But on Friday. Oi.

Dude... I just finished A Game of Thrones today and I'm now voraciously devouring Clash of Kings. Word.

R.A. Salvatore has good characters and plot ideas... but he just doesn't carry through on them too well. His later stuff may be better... I've only read the first couple.

And Robert Jordan...*shudder*

Action figures are fun. I can never leave mine in their boxes though. I always take them out. :)

Stories I'm currently working on.

***Tbook1 (Time and Chaos, needs a new name, needs to be edited)

***Book of Sun (Just needs to be edited. Tis a Nano novel)

***Book of Whispers part 1 (Does not jive at all with part 2; needs to be rewritten to fit and to have less suckage)

***Book of Whispers part 2 (Needs some rehaul editing, needs some loose ends tied up, needs to fit)

***Book of Whispers part 3 (Needs to be finished... then needs to die o.o Not sure if I need a third part in the series)

***Dium's Story (Needs a point, progress, anything... needs to be integrated into Tbook1, since that is what it is a part of, mainly)

***Trio Story with Jackie and Louise (Maybe we should get together and work on this, guys)

***Demon Story (This is working out pretty good so far. I like the plot, it's a bit convoluted, and the characters are interesting)

***New Witch Story (It's only 30 pages long, dang)

***Dragon's Voices (This has SO much potential! wee!)
