I like to be tolerant. Most of you who actually know me understand this (hey wait, that's everyone who reads this blog). In almost every situation I have a tendency to see to at least one of the other sides floating around. For this reason I have a hard time holding a grudge or getting truly angry over the actions of others--I could imagine myself making their choices if I were in their place.

I believe that the only way to world peace is through both powerful tolerance and strong respect. If you understood why your neighbor was so upset about the piece of ground you happened to live on, that is good, but being respectful of them when they are upset--in fact, working to make them not upset--is even better.

I do not seek to deny people the right to their beliefs, however. Tolerance! allow each individual person their own individual existence. Understand the cultural, political, societal influences that cause each person to act the way they do. In mutual tolerance and respect, you cannot hate a group of people for their religion. Respect! If something (like in Lebanon) occurred, there would be no bombing wrath because each side would be respectful of the rights and demands of the other party.

Main problems with this grand theory is the sheer, utter naivete of it. Impractical? perhaps. Idealistic? certainly, and strongly. Too hopeful, seeking good in the total sum of the human race? I don't know yet.

And yet one other thing to qualify all the above--ultimate tolerance, but not absolute tolerance. In fact, intolerance for one thing in particular: intolerance itself. That's right. Don't allow people to not understand and respect one another.

I think that is why when I found out that there is a National Nazi Rally at my university in the coming weeks, two things quickly chased through my mind. The first, that shouldn't we be tolerant of alternative opinions? And the second, that intolerance itself cannot be tolerated. Idiotic hatred, asinine beliefs, blaming things on people for the sake of anger, complete and utter disrespect for a group, a set as a whole--world peace will not exist while these things do. Perhaps this is only me justifying my sudden and intense hatred for this group and the KKK and all the other stupid hate groups in the world. Perhaps.

I am not quite sure whether or not this means that hating individuals is not permissible either (for myself. I guess I am trying to dictate the way people should be in an ideal world, yaddayadda. However, these beliefs are currently solely mine, so I don't really have to worry about what other people would do with them). To understand where everyone comes from makes hating them difficult--yet even if you know and respect the source of their actions, their actions themselves might be unforgivable.

Forgiveness I would say would be a step on the way to world peace, perhaps. Not to forgive and forget. Remember what has happened. But also remember that those actions are the past, and the past cannot be changed. To not be burdened down with grudges must be a strangely powerful thing. So yes, forgiveness as well as respect and tolerance.

But somehow I think that forgiveness might be even harder...

Stories I'm currently working on.

***Tbook1 (Time and Chaos, needs a new name, needs to be edited)

***Book of Sun (Just needs to be edited. Tis a Nano novel)

***Book of Whispers part 1 (Does not jive at all with part 2; needs to be rewritten to fit and to have less suckage)

***Book of Whispers part 2 (Needs some rehaul editing, needs some loose ends tied up, needs to fit)

***Book of Whispers part 3 (Needs to be finished... then needs to die o.o Not sure if I need a third part in the series)

***Dium's Story (Needs a point, progress, anything... needs to be integrated into Tbook1, since that is what it is a part of, mainly)

***Trio Story with Jackie and Louise (Maybe we should get together and work on this, guys)

***Demon Story (This is working out pretty good so far. I like the plot, it's a bit convoluted, and the characters are interesting)

***New Witch Story (It's only 30 pages long, dang)

***Dragon's Voices (This has SO much potential! wee!)
