Break is simultaneously such a glorious and a devastating thing. I drove up Friday to see Katie. Got there late, got lost downtown, and ended up in a hotel. Not what I'd intended, but I roused her early the next morning and found campus in the daylight. We walked through the misty, chill morning and discussed a great number of things. We drank chocolate chai, a drink that I'm amazed to discover ERC sells here; steamy and spicy and rich with dark chocolate, I'm sure it will become an addiction rapidly. We ate breakfast in the union, all tan stone and generic red carpets, and ate lunch at Applebees (a tradition). We saw ducks. We slipped into bookstores for an hour at a time, read each other poetry, and emerged breathless from the dusty stacks. We watched Howl's Moving Castle and the university's production of Cymbeline, which contains an inconceivably large number of coincidences, and agreed that the "scoundrel" was pretty hot. We talked about love, I met her boyfriend, and I slept curled up on three blankets, and two jackets (and woke with a bruise on my cheek). At the end of our time together we walked down through the brisk cool air to the river, touched a tree, found odd shapes in the sand. I wanted to skip stones, but the beach was all sand. In short, I spent two exhilarating days just living and feeling and being. Also, I got to make Katie dress up in a variety of hilarious outfits. (YOU SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT THE JACKET!) I stopped at Jackie's on the way back and spent a delightful evening watching movies. Jackie was as exhausted as I was but it was really good to see her as well, and having spent the night at her place made the trip that much shorter the next day. Since I have returned I have done four things of significance: 1) I cleaned my room! woo! this sucker is gorgeous! the only problem is once again I have run out of bookshelves, and some things are stacked on the floor. Also, I really need to clean the bathroom, and there's a stack of papers and oddities left on my desk, but in general things seem to have turned out well. 2) I watched all three original star wars movies. This is becoming my traditional form of relaxing over break. It doesn't take the emotional dedication, nor the time, that LOTR would. Also, I've begun to notice a little something extra of the lightsaber battles (that's a neuviemme parry! woo!) even though a lightsaber is a slashing weapon as opposed to a poking weapon. 3) I slept for 11 hours yesterday. I fell asleep at 7:15 on the couch, woke up at 10 and crawled into bed, and got up at 6. And yet I did not feel horribly grotesque--only highly guilty for not getting enough homework done. 4) I rewrote all of my math notes (except for from March 26th; I don't have those with me... I'll have to see if Bill would let me borrow them briefly). I only finished this five minutes ago, so I'm currently quite proud, though my hand is cramping up. now all you have to do is do the SAME GORRAMN THING FOR PHYSICS AND WS! ... In short I'm doomed. I work tomorrow, so I'd better go to bed early. With luck I will get a LOT done tomorrow and not feel so gorramn guilty. I've spent a lot of time procrastinating (even picked up a large number of moves on my Tony Hawk Proskater ps2 game... oi), but maybe I can remedy that! Hope everyone has a wonderful "rest of break", and Easter, if you celebrate. |

***Tbook1 (Time and Chaos, needs a new name, needs to be edited) ***Book of Sun (Just needs to be edited. Tis a Nano novel) ***Book of Whispers part 1 (Does not jive at all with part 2; needs to be rewritten to fit and to have less suckage) ***Book of Whispers part 2 (Needs some rehaul editing, needs some loose ends tied up, needs to fit) ***Book of Whispers part 3 (Needs to be finished... then needs to die o.o Not sure if I need a third part in the series) ***Dium's Story (Needs a point, progress, anything... needs to be integrated into Tbook1, since that is what it is a part of, mainly) ***Trio Story with Jackie and Louise (Maybe we should get together and work on this, guys) ***Demon Story (This is working out pretty good so far. I like the plot, it's a bit convoluted, and the characters are interesting) ***New Witch Story (It's only 30 pages long, dang) ***Dragon's Voices (This has SO much potential! wee!) | ![]() |
