It is -5 F out. brrrr... I don't have long underwear but I wore pajama pants under my jeans today, and I can mostly feel my legs. I took the car to the shop last night. It was the scariest drive of my life: as I drove gradually the heat shut down, then the internal lights, then the headlights, turn signals, ABS brakes, parking brake, and airbag. I'm so amazed and grateful that the car didn't die on the side of the road and that I made it to the shop. I need to do Quantum Homework, call the guinea pig place, write my extra credit paper for WS, write my short story assignment of the week, and edit my short story; do Astro extra credit homework and work on the Astro project. And then study for finals. I don't think I have enough time. Last night I watched Michael Moore's Sicko. It was a pretty impressive movie about the health care system in America. It really emphasized to me the need for universal health care to be a priority for our presidential candidates. The policy behind HMOs is the less care they give the more money they make; they have percentages of rejection and denial they have to meet. It's frickin ridiculous. It saddens me to hear that H. Clinton had a campaign for universal health care that got squashed using the Red Scare and that she hasn't been able to touch the idea since then. What will it take to make this really a land of the free? It's ridiculous, the quality and availability of care given in Canada, England, France, and Cuba compared to our paltry efforts. We devalue again and again the chronically ill, the elderly, the poor, and women. done ranting, for now. |

***Tbook1 (Time and Chaos, needs a new name, needs to be edited) ***Book of Sun (Just needs to be edited. Tis a Nano novel) ***Book of Whispers part 1 (Does not jive at all with part 2; needs to be rewritten to fit and to have less suckage) ***Book of Whispers part 2 (Needs some rehaul editing, needs some loose ends tied up, needs to fit) ***Book of Whispers part 3 (Needs to be finished... then needs to die o.o Not sure if I need a third part in the series) ***Dium's Story (Needs a point, progress, anything... needs to be integrated into Tbook1, since that is what it is a part of, mainly) ***Trio Story with Jackie and Louise (Maybe we should get together and work on this, guys) ***Demon Story (This is working out pretty good so far. I like the plot, it's a bit convoluted, and the characters are interesting) ***New Witch Story (It's only 30 pages long, dang) ***Dragon's Voices (This has SO much potential! wee!) | ![]() |

Universal health care for the win! Insurance companies and HMOs are evil incarnate. There aren't many other sorts of companies out there that are perfectly willing to let people die for the sake of paper work.
But then I might be slightly biased against them. :)
It'll be interesting to see what the presidential candidates say about it, and of course if any of them follow through on it later...
Otherwise there's always Canada. Just have to deal with all the snow. :)
